I absolutely love to find sh*t I never expected to come across! And THIS is definitely one of those occasions. I love supporting new artists when they deserve it (check my record). So, I don’t know why I’m late on this song, I should slap myself cause I’m usually not. I actually only heard of Macklemore a few months ago when I saw him on the cover of the XXL magazine I bought as part of the “Freshman Class of 2012″. I read his write-up and it just seemed cool, nothing spectacular… But through updating the site today I hit a link on a website for his new upcoming album with Ryan Lewis called “The Heist”. It lead me to his website, which in turn introduced me to this song & video, “Thrift Shop”. I am an instant fan! SHIIIIIIIIIIIIIT!!! I love the flow, the production, the originality, and the damn bravery to say and wear certain sh*t. Shoutout to both Macklemore & Ryan Lewis! If this is any indication of what’s to come, a new lane for the “white rapper” or just hip-hop period is about to be made.
