Chris Brown’s dad fears his bad boy son’s relationship with Rihanna will end in tragedy.
Speaking exclusively to the Daily News, Clinton Brown said he would prefer his son stay away from the Barbadian songstress, who he infamously assaulted in 2009.
“I personally really didn’t want him and Rihanna back together,” said Clinton. “You have to have a balance in a relationship.”
“You have to have someone who is spontaneous and whimsical but you also have to have someone who is grounded and logical.”
Yeah, grounded isn’t exactly how we’d describe Chris. And it’s not the first word that springs to mind when we look at these pictures of RiRi either….
And Clinton, 48, didn’t stop there. He said he worries the rollercoaster romance could end in one or both of them dying.
“I hate to use examples, but Michael Jackson, Whitney Houston and Amy Winehouse — I mean I could go on and on!” he said.
Chris and Rihanna rekindled their romance late last year but the couple have faced a couple of big tests since then.
Like when Chris flirted with that blonde waitress in a club – yeah that wasn’t great – or when he admitted cheating on Rihanna.
In January he got into an altercation with the singer Frank Ocean, he’s got an ongoing feud with Drake and just two weeks ago he stood before a Virginia judge, accused of failing to complete community service required after assaulting Rihanna.
That’s quite the CV.
And Chris’ dad had more to say. Clinton also met his son’s model ex Karrueche Tran. “I liked her a lot. They seemed to get on terrifically,” he said. “Whenever she was around me, the quiet, meek, accommodating, respectful image is what she portrayed.”
Quite keen on Karreuche, then.
He quickly added that he also met Umbrella singer Rihanna “years ago” and that she “was very respectful and polite as well.”
When asked about whether he thinks he’ll become a gradfather any time soon Clinton unsurprisingly also had something to say.
“[Rihanna] would make a good mom. I think she would probably have to change some of her antics — the party attitude would probably have to change,” he said.
“I don’t think they would just whimsically and spontaneously have a child with them being in this mode. I don’t see it happening — but anything’s possible.”
