On September 24th, Drake released his third studio album ‘Nothing Was The Same’. After a little over a month, the album has now reached platinum status giving Drake his third platinum album.
Last week ‘Nothing Was The Same’ sat at a total of 991,134 copies sold. This week with 50% of sales in ’Nothing Was The Same’ has sold over 20,000 copies pushing it over the 1 million mark. Drake’s singles have done extremely well as “Started From The Bottom” and “Hold On, We’re Going Home” are both platinum. Drake is currently out on his US arena tour ’Would You Like A Tour?’ which will hit Europe and the UK this upcoming February.
NWTS is only the second hip-hop album to go platinum this year so far, with Jay Z’s Magna Carta Holy Grail doing it before it was even released thanks to a lucrative deal with Samsung.
