VIEWS FROM THE SIX: Toronto’s Forgettable Sports Moments! []


Living in and representing Toronto in regards to sports has not been easy. The US media market ignores you. Athletes voice their

displeasure of playing in the fourth largest media market in North America. The dollar exchange and taxes are painful.

Compounded by the dreadful lack of winning over the years things were only made worse.

With the recent success of Toronto teams (Blue Jays, Raptors, TFC) and the promising rebuild of the Leafs and Argonauts things are looking so much better.

So while Torontonians are enjoying the good times lets remember where we came from.

Periodically we here at will highlight some of the lows in Toronto sports over the last 25 years (in no particular order)

Manny Ramirez hits what could be the longest homerun in SkyDome/Rogers Centre History.

On June 2nd 2001, Boston Slugger Manny Ramirez belted a moon shot into the back of the 5th deck of the SkyDome/Rogers Centre. The distance traveled was an estimated 491 feet. The stunned and already dejected Blue Jay faithful cheered Ramirez. How bad was that?
