Drake’s 21,000 square-foot mega-mansion will include a basketball court, spa, and jersey museum.
From a shout-out with his last album’s artwork and (initial) title to acting as the Toronto Raptor’s global ambassador, Drake has been recognized as a vocal supporter of his home city.
Still, because people have to bitch about something, the “what’s up with that?” contingent has taken pains to point out Champagne Papi seems to spend most of his time at his palatial California mansion.
Well, they can prepare to eat crow, because Aubrey’s bringing his fine-living ways back home and building a Toronto mansion that’s literally too big for the neighbourhood.
An entire nation tuned in to watch the Toronto Raptors secure their first-ever seven-game playoff series victory.

Tom Ford’s much anticipated 50-strong Lips & Boys collection was always going to cause a stir. In addition to 25 best-selling lippies came the arrival of 25 new Boys, named after men the designer admires. So, which one sold out within minutes? Drake. Obviously!

Drake’s album Nothing Was The Same was scheduled to drop on September 17th, but as rappers tend to do, the album has been pushed back.
Reports now say, retailers such as Best Buy will only get Drizzy’s highly anticipated LP on September 24th now, a week later than expected.
Drake dropped his first official single, the poppy and r’n’b “Hold On We’re Going Home” two weeks ago. Just recently it was reported that Jay Z, Lil Wayne and Hudson Mohawke are featured on Nothing Was The Same.
In a show of support, Drake went to the Best Buy in Union Square to purchase the entire stock of Born Sinner. J Cole had just finished back to back performances at Irving Plaza in New York City
After game 7 of the NBA finals, In which the Miami Heat clinched their 3 NBA title, Canadian rapper Drake attempted to get into the Heat locker room, only to be denied access.
Security stated that media only can access the locker room. Drake responded by saying “I am Media.”
Clearly Drake is not used to the word “No”
Later on, Drake was seen poppin bottles with Heat Nation at the club:
Though their battle over Rihanna appears to be over, Drake and Chris Brown continue attacking one another in the press.
Drake appeared on East Village Radio’s “Keep It Thoro” show April 12 and told host Elliott Wilson that the media should stop preying on Chris Brown’s insecurities.
“His insecurities are the fact that I make better music than him, that I’m more popping than him, and that at one point in life the woman that he loves fell into my lap,” Drake said Friday. “I did what a real [brother] would do and treated her with respect, so she’s not up there talking down on me. All those things combined create an individual that comes up to your radio station and is going to do dumb [stuff].”
Drake and Brown both dated Rihanna, though Brown has been Rihanna’s long-time, on-again, off-again boyfriend.
Drake, Brown and their respective entourages got into an altercation at a New York club in June 2012 after Drake – who was dating Rihanna at the time – allegedly taunted Brown about his being with Rihanna.
Before telling Wilson Friday that no one wants to hear him rap against Brown since Brown isn’t a rapper, Drake said that beef between Brown and him is not his goal.
“It shouldn’t be about tearing that man down,” Drake said. “It shouldn’t be about wanting to see me and him tear each other down. We have an issue and it’s either going to drag out, or maybe in 10 years we’ll laugh about it over drinks. But just let us solve that.”
So far, Brown’s response to Drake’s interview has been a three-letter response on Twitter: “Lol.”
Young Money’s Drake is making sure we realize his “5 AM In Toronto” is not one-and-done music by getting the cameras out for its accompanying music video.
Although details are still coming together, he reportedly shot the visual in Canada this week. With “Started From the Bottom” still making waves on the charts, Drake went in front of the lens to shoot the video for “5AM in Toronto.” Wearing a throwback Cash Money Millionaires “Welcome to the Family” sweater, the Young Money rapper and his OVO crew took over the indoor sandbox court at Beach Blast in his hometown of Toronto earlier this week. The dark visuals called for black lights and bikini-clad girls, who posed as volleyball players. Drizzy shot one scene overlooking the sandy court with the Canadian flag in the background. Many basketball players were said to be on set as well.
Mack Maine really got excited to talk about Drake’s new project. Yes, Aubrey took shots on the “5 AM in Toronto” record, and Mack said that’s just the beginning. “The worst thing you can do is get that dude mad because he creates music from his heart and off emotion too,” Mack told host Sway Calloway. “So when you get him mad … You saw what happened with the ‘5 AM in Toronto,’ and it’s more to follow. That dude is amazing, awesome.” Drake, who won the Best Rap Album Grammy for Take Care, has titled his third album Nothing Was the Same, and the ever-loyal Mack Maine said Drake has set the bar high. “Just know he won’t disappoint you,” Mack said. “He’s actually, if you can believe, he’s going to another level, taking it to another level. Like he said, ‘Tryna do like Lebron and win another one, tryna get another one.’
Released earlier this month, the Toronto native takes aim at MTV’s “Hottest MCs in the Game” list, estranged friend The Weeknd and more on “5 AM in Toronto.”
It seems Drizzy felt he should have been placed higher. Or rather, he just doesn’t even care about the list at all. He’s beyond rap lists, to hear him tell it. He says as much on his new cut, spitting: “I swear, f*ck them n*ggas this year/ I made Forbes list, n*gga / F*ck your list, everything’s lookin’ gorgeous.” Elsewhere, he takes shots at the Weeknd, whom he’s seemingly had a falling out with. “I show love, never get the same out of n*ggas/ Guess it’s funny how money can make change out of n*ggas/ For real, some nobody started feeling himself/ A couple somebodies started killing themself/ A couple albums dropped those are still on the shelf/ I bet them sh*t would have popped if I was willing to help.”
And there are thinly-veiled shots at Common: “I’m headed to the bank n*gga/ Sinatra lifestyle, I’m just being Frank, n*gga.” Addresses his beef with Chris Brown: “Bad press during the summer over allegations/ I ain’t lyin’, my n*gga, my time is money/ That’s why I ain’t got time for a n*gga who’s time is comin.” And his rumored romance with Rihanna: “Where you think she at when she ain’t with you?/ Wildin’, doin’ sh*t that’s way out of your budget/ Owl sweaters inside her luggage, you gotta love it/ D*mn, this sh*t could go on a tape.”
Professional basketball star Tony Parker says he suffered a scratched retina on one of his eyes during a New York City nightclub brawl involving singer Chris Brown and members of hip-hop star Drake’s entourage.
The guard for the San Antonio Spurs of the National Basketball Association, wearing dark sunglasses, described the incident Friday in Paris during a news conference posted on YouTube. He said he expects to be sidelined for about a week while the French team prepares for the Summer Olympics.
Parker said he was wearing a “therapeutic” contact lens and had to go to an emergency room for treatment after arriving in Paris.
Parker said: “I was with my friend Chris Brown and me and my friends took some punches, so I’ll be missing the start of the French team because I can’t do anything for a week except keep the lens in and then take drops.”
Police said Brown, his girlfriend and his bodyguard were among several people injured during the bottle-hurling fight early Thursday at W.i.P in SoHo.
Parker said “they started throwing bottles everywhere. I don’t know what happened. At first it was OK, but then it started getting worse and when the plane landed it was really hurting so I went straight to the ER.”
The Spurs declined comment.
A Manhattan, New York lawyer has filed a lawsuit alleging that his $30,000 Rose-Gold Rolex Presidential with a diamond bezel went missing from a Midtown jeweler, only to later found out that the establishment sold the timepiece to Drake.
According to the New York Post, attorney James McMillan filed a lawsuit against Rafaello & Co. on West 47th Street in Midtown, Manhattan for selling his watch to Drizzy.
Sources close to Drake, however, told TMZ that the claim is total nonsense and that the Young Money rapper does own a Rose Gold Rolex—the same one he wears on the cover of his sophomore album, Take Care—but vows that he bought it directly from Rolex himself. Furthermore, the source adds that Drake never received a watch from the midtown jeweler named in the case.
Still, McMillan is sticking to his guns. He alleges that the drama started last year, when he brought his prized timepiece in for a cleaning. He claims the owner told him that he loved the watch so much that he was wearing it. McMillan went back a week later, only to allegedly be told that his watch was gone and later learn that it was allegedly sold to Drake.
“He goes back to the store and confronts them and they confirmed that the watch was sold,” McMillan’s lawyer, Claudine King, told The Post.
A lawyer for Rafaello & Co says that’s not true.
“I believe the allegations in this lawsuit will be proven to be without merit,” Mark Rosenfeld told the same newspaper.
Drake is currently on his Club Paradise Tour.
