NBA star Dwyane Wade recently spent time with his new baby boy he fathered with a woman while on a break with now-fiancée Gabrielle Union, a source close to the couple tells ET.
Wade, 31, and Union, 41, who were officially engaged last week, have worked through the issue privately as a couple, and the Bring It On star was aware of the child before their engagement. Wade has known the mother of his youngest son, Aja Metoyer, “for many years.”
According to the birth certificate, obtained by ET, Wade and Metoyer have named the child, who was born on November 10, Xavier Zechariah Wade. Unclear is the status of Aja’s relationship with Damon Wayans Jr., son of In Living Color star Damon Wayans and currently a cast member on New Girl, of whom she already has 2 kids with.
Anyways, the long-time couple, who have been dating since 2009, are still very much committed to spending their lives together, and according to the Miami Heat star last week, a September wedding is likely.
A committed father, Wade has full custody of his two sons after a contentious custody battle with his ex-wife Siohvaughn Funches, and is also raising his nephew. He has made no secret that being a father is the most important role in his life, participating in President Obama’s Fatherhood Task Force and becoming a New York Times bestselling author for his book A Father First: How My Life Became Bigger than Basketball.
According to the source, Wade has never taken his fatherhood responsibility lightly and has no intention to do so now.

Sorry ladies but the king has found his queen.
As per CBS sports, LeBron got hitched, according to a report. It had been planned for this weekend for months, including a super-elaborate invitation that protected the couple’s privacy superbly, according to all accounts. But on Saturday, the knot was tied, from Us Weekly:
The newlyweds said “I do” at the Grand Del Mar hotel in San Diego, Calif., and were joined by some of their famous friends, including fellow NBA star Dwyane Wade, his actress love Gabrielle Union and singer Neyo.
Savanah Brinson’s engagement ring was freaking huge. Alongside Wade, you can bet on other stars in attendance. Instagram photos should start popping up Sunday.
TMZ has also reported that rapper Jay-Z and wife Beyonce were in attendance and the pop star even performed her hit “Crazy In Love” at the reception.
James and Brinson have been together since high school and were engaged on New Year’s Eve, 2011. They have two sons together.
Not a bad year for the King.
Dwyane Wade will pay his ex-wife Siohvaughn Funches-Wade a divorce settlement of $5 million a judge decided Monday.
The settlement also includes a “non-disparage” agreement in which each party must refrain from making disparaging remarks about the other.
Funches-Wade also will receive the couples’ former mansion in South Holland and four cars.
Brian Hurst, an attorney for Funches-Wade, argued that his client never fully agreed to all the provisions in the settlement, including the “non-disparage” provision. But Cook County Circuit Court Judge John Thomas Carr decided both parties did agree on the deal and he found the settlement valid, effectively ending a six-year divorce proceeding that has drawn national attention.
Exactly what will constitute a disparaging remark still needs to be hammered out, but Wade’s attorney, James Pritikin, expects violation of the terms would result in a fine. Pritikin said protection from disparaging remarks also would extend to Wade’s family members, as well as his girlfriend, actress Gabrielle Union.
Outside the courtroom Monday, Funches-Wade expressed her displeasure with the decision. “My voice isn’t for sale, my story isn’t for sale, no thank you.”
Dwyane Wade did not attend the hearing, according to the report.
Funches-Wade sat outside of the Daley Center with a cardboard sign that said “NBA Miami Heat star, mother of his children on the streets.” The reason for that being her claim that Wade had not been paying his $25,000 a month in spousal support, which his attorney denied in a statement.
“Dwyane Wade has made several requests over the years to settle this matter, despite Ms. Funches having 16 different attorneys and 2 arrests throughout this process,” Prtikin, the attorney, said. “Mr. Wade has provided a very generous settlement to Ms. Funches to continue to live a wonderful lifestyle for the rest of her life. Despite false allegations by Ms. Funches claiming to be ‘homeless’ and ‘destitute,’ Dwyane Wade has maintained over the years financial support to his ex-wife by providing her with income over $25,000 on a monthly basis, timely paid for her home mortgage, maintenance and security at the house, 4 cars, insurance, taxes and all of her attorney fees throughout this process.”
The couple married in 2002 and has two sons, Zion and Zaire. Wade filed for divorce in 2007, with it being finalized in 2010. In 2011, Wade was awarded sole custody of their kids.
Actress Gabrielle Union’s 40th birthday featured surprise performances from Will Smith and Doug E. Fresh. Will freestyled over a classic Doug E. Fresh beatbox and then he performed “Summertime,” and The Fresh Prince Of Bel-Air theme song. Afterwards, Doug E. hit his dougie and performed the iconic “La Di Da Di.” All that after the break.
If you haven’t seen actress Gabrielle Union courtside at Miami Heat games cheering on her man Dwyane Wade, don’t worry: their relationship’s fine, it’s just that he’s banned her from sitting front and center.
“I don’t sit courtside; that got killed when I became as vocal as I am,” the enthusiastic heckler told Conan O’Brien.
Union said that because of her jeers against opposing teammates and referees, Wade told her to move further away from the court as he could hear every word she said — including some jeers when her man messes up.
“I feel like, who’s gonna tell him if not me?” she laughingly told a flabbergasted Conan, admitting she’s yelled both “Airball!” and “Brick!” at her boyfriend.
Future NBA girlfriends can take a few heckler’s pointers from Union, who reportedly began dating Wade after his split from ex-wife Siohvaughn in 2007.
“I time it out perfectly for maximum effect,” she said, likening herself to aggressive basketball coach Bobby Knight and movie character “The Great Santini,” known for his in-the-face taunting of his son.
Union confessed to yelling at an aging referee, “You’ll get your Viagra if you just make a call!” and wounding a heavy-set player with a well-timed “Your Spanx are showing!'”
The ‘Think Like A Man’ star previously told ESPN her love of sports is a part of the pair’s relationship. Union grew up playing sports and rooting for the Nebraska Cornhuskers; she dated basketball player Jason Kidd in high school and was married to football player Chris Howard.
