Rapper Rick Ross is behind bars once again after being arrested for the second time this month … and the situation seems way worse than a simple pot bust.
The U.S. Marshals Service tells TMZ … Ross was arrested Wednesday morning in Fayette County, Georgia and charged with kidnapping, aggravated assault, and aggravated battery.

Florida news stations are currently sharing live reports that a serious shooting has occurred at Lil Wayne’s Miami Beach home. “According to a police spokesperson, an unnamed individual called saying that he had shot four people inside the home,” writes Local 10.
WSVN-TV has a live broadcast going. From it, we’ve learned that “the S.W.A.T. team has been requested” outside his $9.4 million, eight-bedroom mansion after a “caller said shots were fired, there may be Continue reading
Diddy assaulted Drake early Monday morning because of a feud over a song.
As we reported, Diddy punched Drake at LIV nightclub in Miami Beach, and we were told it was because Diddy felt disrespected by the rapper, and now we know why.
Our sources say, producer Boi-1da had given both Diddy and Drake a song to record more than 8 months ago. We’re told Diddy sat on the song, which frustrated Drake because he wanted to record it. So recently Drake recorded the song on his own and it did well, which pissed Diddy off.
According to our sources, Continue reading
Earlier this year in Miami, the IRS filed a tax lien for taxes owed from the Young Money CEO for 2011 and 2012 for a grand total of $12,155,084. (That comes out to $5,843,952 for 2011 and $6,311,132 for 2012.) Sheesh! It didn’t stop there, though.
Dwyane Wade will pay his ex-wife Siohvaughn Funches-Wade a divorce settlement of $5 million a judge decided Monday.
The settlement also includes a “non-disparage” agreement in which each party must refrain from making disparaging remarks about the other.
Funches-Wade also will receive the couples’ former mansion in South Holland and four cars.
Brian Hurst, an attorney for Funches-Wade, argued that his client never fully agreed to all the provisions in the settlement, including the “non-disparage” provision. But Cook County Circuit Court Judge John Thomas Carr decided both parties did agree on the deal and he found the settlement valid, effectively ending a six-year divorce proceeding that has drawn national attention.
Exactly what will constitute a disparaging remark still needs to be hammered out, but Wade’s attorney, James Pritikin, expects violation of the terms would result in a fine. Pritikin said protection from disparaging remarks also would extend to Wade’s family members, as well as his girlfriend, actress Gabrielle Union.
Outside the courtroom Monday, Funches-Wade expressed her displeasure with the decision. “My voice isn’t for sale, my story isn’t for sale, no thank you.”
Dwyane Wade did not attend the hearing, according to the report.
Funches-Wade sat outside of the Daley Center with a cardboard sign that said “NBA Miami Heat star, mother of his children on the streets.” The reason for that being her claim that Wade had not been paying his $25,000 a month in spousal support, which his attorney denied in a statement.
“Dwyane Wade has made several requests over the years to settle this matter, despite Ms. Funches having 16 different attorneys and 2 arrests throughout this process,” Prtikin, the attorney, said. “Mr. Wade has provided a very generous settlement to Ms. Funches to continue to live a wonderful lifestyle for the rest of her life. Despite false allegations by Ms. Funches claiming to be ‘homeless’ and ‘destitute,’ Dwyane Wade has maintained over the years financial support to his ex-wife by providing her with income over $25,000 on a monthly basis, timely paid for her home mortgage, maintenance and security at the house, 4 cars, insurance, taxes and all of her attorney fees throughout this process.”
The couple married in 2002 and has two sons, Zion and Zaire. Wade filed for divorce in 2007, with it being finalized in 2010. In 2011, Wade was awarded sole custody of their kids.

The ex-wife of basketball star Dwyane Wade has dropped a lawsuit she filed Tuesday alleging she was owed at least $1 million from her former husband.
According to court papers, Siohvaughn Wade filed a voluntary dismissal order today at the Circuit Court of Cook County Law Division.
The previous suit was dismissed without prejudice, according to court papers.
Earlier, Siohvaughn Wade claimed that the basketball star was engaged in a conspiracy to deprive her of money she was owed. In the previous complaint, she named Dwyane Wade, his attorney, his financial adviser and companies that he had endorsement deals for allegedly refusing to uphold an agreement that required money to be placed in a joint bank account.
The two were childhood sweethearts and were married in 2002. Wade filed for divorce in 2008.
CHICAGO (AP) — A legal battle that NBA star Dwyane Wade and his ex-wife have been fighting for years has a new chapter.
The Chicago Sun-Times reports that Siohvaughn Funches-Wade filed a lawsuit Tuesday alleging that Wade is violating the terms of a 2008 agreement that requires his endorsement deals be fully deposited into a joint account they both control.
According to the paper, the lawsuit claims a total of $2 million in damages from Wade, four companies involved in endorsement deals, a financial adviser and an attorney.
James Pritikin, Wade’s attorney, said the lawsuit was without merit and that he expected it to be thrown out of court. He also said that the lawsuit “mischaracterizes” the terms of the agreement involving the joint account but declined to comment further.
The lawsuit comes just weeks after Wade’s Miami Heat won the NBA championship series against the San Antonio Spurs — the kind of event that often results in more endorsement opportunities for professional athletes.
It also follows a messy divorce and custody battle that played out in Chicago courtrooms between Wade, a Chicago-area native, and his ex-wife for about five years. In 2010, Wade was granted a divorce and the next year he was awarded sole custody of the couple’s two sons.
Last year, Funches-Wade was arrested on misdemeanor charges of attempted child abduction, unlawful visitation interference and obstruction of a peace officer after an incident related to visitation. The Cook County State’s Attorney’s Office said Wednesday that all the charges except obstruction of a peace officer have been dismissed. The office said Funches-Wade is scheduled to appear in court on that charge in September.

Editor’s Note: Dee dee cocheta is an industry vet that has had a long tenure in music. Her career spans PR & Social Media Professional, digital content producer, blogger and more. She writes an open letter to Rick Ross after a recent song seems to advocate date rape. Rick Ross has not commented. While rape, real or suggested, is horrific and completely objectionable, the views in this open letter are dee dee’s.
I am writing you a letter because I have sat back and observed long enough. I am coming to you as a ‘sister’ of the human family we all belong to. WE are connected! AND you my brother, I am tired of hearing negative things about you and now I am mad at how you are treating yourself. So please do not take this wrong or feel I am coming at you to scold or beat you up with my words. I am coming to you because I CARE and LOVE YOU!
What brought me to the point of writing this open letter was after reading ALLHIPHOP.com Hip-Hop Rumors on your new song, “U.O.E.N.O.” (you ain’t even know it) titled: YOWZA! New Rick Ross Lyric Will Upset Smart Women! So yeah I’m a little upset and rightfully so as the lyric you wrote about refers to ‘date rape’ and is exactly how I lost my virginity; someone STOLE it at the age of 14 before entering in high school. I take responsibility for being at a party I had no business being at but I want you to know how scary this now 41-year-old woman felt to wake up to blood on the sheets with an aching pain and empty feeling, that your heart is sunken where you feel you lost something. Well I did, I lost the right to choose whom I wanted to share that special moment with because I was knocked out and taken advantage of. See William, your lyric doesn’t educate it only further glamorize what fools like that man did to me 27 years ago. I happen to believe in karma and I know that man got his without me having to lift a finger.
William, I’m concerned about your health and your life messing with the wrong people and feel you are not listening to the GOD in you. I believe things that are happening to you now is because it’s GOD saying SLOW THE EFF down, get control of your life, you are not on the path destined. William, that means not at the expense of yourself or others. I understand this entertainment industry with expertise of over 20 years and can impart wisdom as I just shared my experience with date rape. Additionally, in my youth, I have been associated with gang members, dealt with being a borderline diabetic so weight/eating has always been an issue for me most of my life and basically led a self-destructed life. Why? because I really did not love myself. Additionally, I have 7 children and 3 grand babies (known to many as the Hip-Hop Mama) where I was recently diagnosed with breast cancer… So William, I’m not the type of mom, sister or friend that judges let alone condone certain things, I take accountability for my actions, I take responsibility for how I live and educate my children; making them aware of as much as I can in life – good and bad, never hiding truth and the ugliness this world has to offer. Right now though I am in the process of healing self and fully loving me. I believe this may be something missing in your life. I am sure you are trying to work on your health issues?!!? I am not sure what’s going on with all this gang/gun/court mess but I do not like it and I have been praying and meditating on you for a while.
“You must choose your battles wisely.” Words I have heard and keep hearing because I did not learn my lesson until now…
William, those lyrics on date rape to your actions all say to me you need help and healing yet we cannot take that first step for you. YOU MUST CHOSE A SIDE and not at the expense of your health, your life or to further perpetuate the hurt and pain of others.
William, we are all survivors, KINGS and QUEENS! I hope you make your way back to being able to show us that courage and strength. Being vulnerable is not a sign for weakness; it shows you are a man. I will continue to pray yet this is a call for you to take some other type of action before you will be another fallen Hip-Hop artist like so many others we lost. I believe and LOVE YOU WILLIAM. Please show me something different good!
RESPECTFULLY, your sister

That’s letter number two Ricky
Uncle Luke, who has been no stranger to beef recently penned an open letter in the Miami Times blog to Rick Ross. Here is the letter:
Dear Rick Ross:
As someone who survived several rap beefs, I’m going to give you some advice. You need to seriously address the threats and attempts on your life. You have worked hard to become a big name in hip-hop. You’ve paid your dues and you’ve grown lyrically since the release of your debut album, Port of Miami, in 2006. You’ve arrived, buddy.
But all this gangster bullshit is jeopardizing your career. No club or arena is going to risk people getting shot. You can forget about doing any tours or CD signings. And if you can’t make money, watch how fast Warner Bros. Records turns on you. I know from experience how venues and the music industry would like to black ball you.
You have the Gangster Disciples breathing down your neck because you’ve named-dropped Larry Hoover, the gang’s founder, in your music. Unlike the record and book publishing industries, these bad dudes don’t understand the concept of public domain. They see you getting rich forever by rapping about their leader, and they don’t like it. That’s why they’re on YouTube talking about how you need to go see them and cut a check.
It’s a shame you can’t enjoy life without spending part of your earnings on heavy security or risking your freedom by purchasing an arsenal. Remember, that’s what landed T.I. and Lil Wayne in prison. You don’t want that to happen to you. However, those are the consequences of rapping about being something you’re not.
Hip-hop has a rich history of college guys who never committed a crime rapping about moving kilos of yayo and taking out snitches. Every gangster rapper takes on the role of a real hood legend to build up street cred. But I don’t want you to fall into the trap of believing you are really a gangster.
Trust me, you don’t want to go out like Biggie Smalls or Tupac. It’s time you squash your beefs.
No word on how Ross plans to respond or address the situation. Stay posted

Rapper Gunplay PULLED A FIREARM on his accountant during a meeting in April in an explosive fit of rage … and the entire incident was captured by surveillance cameras. Gunplay allegedly stole a cell phone and a gold chain during the incident … and was later charged with armed robbery. He turned himself in to Miami-Dade Police earlier this week. Gunplay — real name Richard Morales Jr. — also faces a second charge of aggravated assault with a firearm. According to the rapper’s attorney, Gunplay could face life in prison if convicted on both counts.”
NFL star Chad Johnson aka Chad Ochocinqo was arrested last night (Saturday) for domestic violence … allegedly against new wife Evelyn Lozada, one of the stars of VH1’s “Basketball Wives.” Law enforcement sources tell us Johnson allegedly head-butted Lozada during an argument, and when cops arrived to the scene, Lozada had lacerations on her forehead. Our sources say Lozada has been at the hospital for several hours. According to our sources, the fight started when Lozada found a receipt for condoms in the center of the couple’s Maserati and confronted Johnson about it. A verbal argument ensued. We’re told at some point during the argument, Johnson head-butted Lozada. According to reports, Johnson told police he butted heads with Lozada by accident. Johnson is reportedly still in custody and will have to go before a judge before he can be released. Johnson and Lozada were married last month after Johnson proposed in November 2010 with a massive 10-carat diamond ring.
UPDATE: Johnson is still at the Davie, FL police station, but will eventually be transferred to a county jail facility. Authorities tell us he will remain in custody tonight, and since there are no bond judges scheduled to work Sunday … it’s entirely possible Chad will be cooling off behind bars until Monday morning. Johnson was also ordered not to have contact with Lozada, which is common practice in domestic violence cases. A rep for the Miami Dolphins released a statement on the arrest, saying, “We are aware of the situation and are in the process of gathering all the relevant information.”
Add unemployment to Chad Johnson’s list of problems — the Miami Dolphins have reportedly cut their star wide receiver … 24 hours after his arrest for domestic violence. Sources close to the veteran player say … he had a meeting with Dolphins head coach Joe Philbin about an hour ago. Must not have gone well — FOX Sports’ Jay Glazer is reporting the team dropped Johnson.
UPDATE #3: VH1 has now cancelled the reality show “Ev & Ocho” due to the recent allegations.
UPDATE #4: As of the morning of Aug. 14th, Evelyn has filed for divorce citing “irretrievably broken” as the reason.
Grammy-winning rapper Lil Wayne has been indentified as the “famous rapper” who got into a physical altercation with NFL superstar Dez Bryant in Miami over the weekend.
Initially only identified as a famous hip-hop star, Weezy was later identified Wednesday (January 18) afternoon.
Beach police have no incident reports from the fight, but a source tells a Herald reporter that Lil’ Wayne was involved. The fight happened inside the Fontainebleau’s LIV, the station reports, but details are otherwise sketchy about the altercation. Update 2: David Smiley, the Herald’s Miami Beach reporter, Tweets that a MBPD source tells him that Lil’ Wayne and his entourage were the “famous rapper” involved in the Bryant fight. (Miami New Times)
Additional reporting claims Weezy struck first by taunting Bryant’s on-field and off-field performances.
Dallas Cowboys wide receiver Dez Bryant was involved in an altercation with rapper Lil Wayne over the weekend. It’s been reported that the altercation occurred at LIV nightclub in Miami, Florida when Wayne began taunting Bryant about his unimpressive performance this season along with his financial and legal issues. A fight broke out from there. Lil Wayne, nor his camp, have provided a statement yet, but Bryant’s mentor, David Wells, stated that the Cowboys WR had not been arrested, despite earlier reports. (Complex)
The incident took place at the same location Weezy celebrated the Dallas Mavericks NBA Finals win over the Miami Heat.
Someone heckling Cowboys receiver Dez Bryant about his play on the field and his public debt issues prompted the Miami club altercation he was involved in over the weekend. David Wells, Bryant’s adviser, confirmed there was a confrontation involving Bryant at Club Liv, the same club where the Mavericks celebrated their NBA championship nearly seven months ago. “We are aware of media inquiries only and have heard of no documented reports from authorities,” said Rich Dalrymple, the club’s vice president of public relations. (Dallas News)
Wayne is a strong supporter of Bryant’s NFC nemesis team, Green Bay Packers.
“Since this is the first show, I’ll let you know from this show on, you will be able to post questions to our Facebook page or to our site or whatever,” Weezy added. “You’ll be able to post questions up. I’ll get to those questions in some kind of way — I have my teams. I’m not sure if you can tell, but I’m a Green Bay Packers fan, I’m an LA Lakers fan, I’m a Boston Red Sox fan, I’m a Washington Capitals fan.” (“Weezy’s Sports Corner”)Follow @TEKTheKingpin
Defending his decision to run for mayor of Miami-Dade County, former 2 Live Crew member Luther “Uncle Luke” Campbell has explained why placing a tax on adult entertainment is needed in his hometown.
Luke also believes his hip-hop seniority has helped him develop a keen political sense.
“When you’re in the music business and you’re as controversial as our group [was] throughout the years, you kind of have to know politics,” Campbell tells Rolling Stone. “There have been so many years where I already was thinking about running for office. It just wasn’t the proper time..If we do a stripper tax – take that money, set it aside, and have it go directly to youth programs as well as battered women programs that have been cut back – I would think that the strippers and exotic dancers will be happy about that, because they’ll see their money going to something that’s good.” (Rolling Stone)
Imagining himself as mayor, Luke previously said he would enforce exotic dancers to pay taxes to better the community.
“Even though all my stripper friends are gonna be mad at me, I think we can stimulate the economy with a tax on strippers. They make all this money and don’t pay taxes. I’d take that cash and put it into a fund where it supports youth athletics for girls like cheerleading or softball. Or it can go to help pay for existing little girls programs that are struggling to get government assistance.” (Miami New Times)
He also described his frustrations with current Miami mayor Carlos Alvarez’s lackluster efforts to create more jobs.
“I am mad frustrated. I have always been involved in politics, going back to my battles in the city of Miami Beach, dealing with the city commissioners and the mayor. I ran my own nightclub, and I believed African-Americans were treated badly during Memorial Day weekend. I’ve thought about running for public office before, but someone would always end up talking me out of it, saying, ‘We have this good person here, he will do good for the community,’ so I always backed out. But I’d end up frustrated because they didn’t do anything. I’d give them ideas and they would just tell me what they wanted to hear.” (Miami New Times)
Last month, Luke said a run at mayor would be inspired if Mayor Alvarez was removed in March.
The recall for Mayor Alvarez has been set for March 15. There have been efforts to recall Alvarez since December 2009, but there were initially not enough signatures necessary. The possibilities of a recall gained steam again this past September when county commissioners passed a budget that raised property taxes and increased the salaries of county employees. (XXL Mag)
